Mass at St Patrick's R.C. Church

Our children and all teaching staff gathered together for Mass [via zoom] to begin the new academic year. Our parish priest, Father Phil led the Mass. We gathered together in prayer, asking God to help and guide us throughout the new year. The children then presented gifts to represent their talents.

Reviewing Our Mission Statement

" Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

Matthew 28:19

At the beginning of our new academic school year, the children reflected on our School Mission Statement. Each class read the Mission Statement and discussed what it means to them. Many of our children discussed how they live out the Mission Statement in their daily lives. The children also  contributed to the Mission Statement by adding key words.

School Council - Go Green this Harvest

" God looked at everything he had made and was very pleased"

As part of our school responding to Pope Francis' call to Care for Our Common Home, the School Council met [and continually meet] in order to organise a fundraising Day- Go Green  Day. The School Council also discussed various ways the children, staff and parents can respond to how we can all better care for our planet. The school council have already implemented an initiative, where each class are to bring in their own water bottles [re-usable!]. This has already had a positive impact, as we are using less paper cups and also, this is enabling the children to become much more aware, that one small action can have a wider, positive impact.

Eyes of the World 

In response to the Eyes of the World COP26 campaign, our children have been reflecting on this within their collective worship and within other areas of their school life. Within their collective worship, the children have reflected in prayer, listened to scripture and have thought about how they [we] can and should, be looking after the world that God, Our Creator, has made for us all to live in. Many of our children then completed some tasks, linked to their collective worship, particularly the Eyes of the World, in order to help them become much more aware of the climate crisis and how they [we] can help the poorest communities.  This is just one of the many ways that our children are responding to the Pope's and Bishop's call, to respond and be proactive.

The Month of the Holy Rosary

"And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her."

In this very special month dedicated to Our Lady, the children and the adults at St Patrick’s RC Primary, were given the opportunity to reflect and pray. The Faith Group invited the school community to take part in collective worships, which focused on this very special time of the Church’s Liturgical year. The Faith Group met up and planned the collective worships. The children  chose the scripture and artwork that would be used in the collective worships.

Remembrance Day 2021

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

John 3:16

To commemorate all those who have passed in War and Conflict, the whole school community gathered together [via zoom] in reflection and in prayer. The children then created some beautiful work to commemorate this important day.

Remembrance Collective Worship

"And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

Ephesians 5:2

As part of commemorating those who have passed in War and Conflict, the school community gathered together in their classrooms and took part in collective worship. The children listened to scripture and were encouraged to pray. Some of the children even wrote their own prayers and offered them up to God, in their intentions.

The Nativity 2021

Year Two retold the Nativity story at Saint Patrick’s RC Church. The whole school community watched via zoom.

The Christmas Party 2021

As we are a community that aims to “live life to full”, the children gathered in the hall to celebrate this very important time of the year. The children had fun and enjoyed this fantastic day!

Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day

" Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God"

To help raise money and awareness for the global children's charity, Save the Children, all children and staff were asked to wear Christmas jumpers and to donate £1. We all gathered together in the community room to celebrate and learn about the wonderful work that Save the Children does throughout the world. It was a great day for the children to understand that their small donation of just £1, could make a big difference in another child's life.

Live streamed Mass from the Salford Cathedral

To celebrate the start of the academic school year, the whole school community - governors, staff, children and parents were invited to join a live-streamed Mass from the Cathedral . The children gathered in their own classrooms to participate and watch the Mass.

The Month of the Holy Rosary

"But the Lord himself will give you a sign: the virgin will be pregnant. She will have a son and she will name him Immanuel" *

As October is the Month of the Holy Rosary, our children created some beautiful artwork. The children also prayed to Our Lady each day, saying the Hail Mary.

Remembrance Day 11/11/2020

"For God gave his Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life"

John 3: 16

At 11 am on 11th November, our school community observed a two minute silence to remember those who lost their lives in war and conflict. Our school community gathered in their own bubbles to observe and worship "together" via zoom. The children and staff reflected on this day and said the Eternal Rest prayer. To further encourage the children to reflect on this day, the children took part in various activities. These included, children say and writing their own prayer and children creating poppies in different media.

Advent Mass Live Streamed from the Salford Catherdral

In preparing for Christmas, all of our children and staff watched Bishop John say Mass at the Salford Cathedral via a live stream video. The children joined in prayer and listened to the readings and Gospel reading.

Christmas Jumper day for Save the Children

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart – not reluctantly or under compulsion – for God loves a cheerful giver.

2 - Corinthians 9:7

For this year's Christmas Jumper Day, the children were asked to donate money towards the charity Save the Children. The children had a fabulous day! They wore Christmas jumpers and did lots of fun activities.

Class Worship

During Lent, our Faith Group Leaders from each class, led their class worship. They read from Scripture and led the class worship prayers. The whole class reflected on the day's scripture passage.

Our children and all teaching staff gathered at our parish church, St Patrick’s RC church to begin the new academic year. Our parish priest, Father Phil led the Mass. We gathered together and asked God to help us use our talents throughout this year. The children presented gifts, their books and artwork as an offering of using their talents.

Welcome Back!

'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!'

To begin our first day back at school, the children and teaching staff gathered together to pray, reflect on the new school new year and all the possibilities it holds. Our headteacher led the assembly and encouraged the children to reflect on scripture and how we must use our gifts from God, to try our best in whatever we choose to to do. There was a moment of reflection at the end of our worship.

Parents Welcomed into Nursery

Our Nursery Parents were invited into Nursery and were encouraged to take part in some of the many wonderful, learning and fun activities that our children engage in on a daily basis. Lots of our parents enjoyed the day , as much as our children did.

Parents Welcomed into Reception

The parents of our Reception children were warmly welcomed into school to see the wonderful work that our children do. The children thoroughly enjoyed showing their mums and dad the great work they have achieved so far. Our fantastic teachers were there to speak to our parents to answer any questions also.

Nursery Parent's Maths Workshop

'In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven'

To support our parents with their children's learning at home and for them to know about the types of learning that happens in our Nursery, many of our parents were invited into school. Our Nursery teacher and team shared their knowledge of how to help the children in Maths. The parents then spent some time with their children, doing many various Maths activities.

Macmillian Coffee Morning

 ‘In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'

Acts 20:35

The whole took part in raising money for charity Macmillan. The children and staff baked some wonderful cakes and biscuits.  A coffee morning was held in our community room, which was attended by many of our parents. The cakes were then sold at break times. Below, is the amount that we raised  for Macmillan as a school.

Nursery- Acting out the Nativity Story

'The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth'

John 1:14

Our wonderful Nursery children listened to the Nativity story from their class Bible and then acted it out. The class teacher narrated the story and the children repeated short phrases from the Bible. The children thoroughly enjoyed their R.E. lesson.

The Foundation Stage The Nativity

'Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Emmanuel.'

Isaiah 7:14

Our Foundation Stage children led a wonderful Nativity, which was attended by the whole school, staff, parents and governors. The children sang hymns such as O Little Town of Bethlehem and Silent Night, and acted out what happened on the night of the birth of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. The Year One children also helped in singing and some of the Year Two children, even narrated the story.

To celebrate this special time of the Church's Year, the children and staff gathered together at out parish church and watched our wonderful Year 2 children retell the Nativity story. Year 6 helped in leading our bidding prayers and they read passages from the Bible. Lots of our parents and governors attended Year 2's Nativity.

Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day

'Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord'

To help raise money and awareness for the global children's charity, Save the Children, all children and staff were asked to wear Christmas jumpers and to donate £1. We all gathered together in the community room to celebrate and learn about the wonderful work that Save the Children does throughout the world. It was a great day for the children to understand that their small donation of just £1, could make a big difference in another child's life.

We raised £155.00 for Save the Children charity. 

Christmas Fair

‘Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause’

After school, a Christmas Fair was held, where Christmas decorations, activities and treats were sold. There was a great turnout in parents and children.

The whole school gathered together in prayer and song to celebrate this very special time of year. Many of our children who have been learning a musical instrument,alongside their academic studies performed for their teachers, peers and parents. 

The Launch of Our Bright Jumper Harvest Day

'Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done'

Our School Council, organised an assembly about the upcoming Bright Jumper Harvest Day. The children led the assembly and prepared the letters that would be sent to all the parents, about when the day would happen and what clothing the children were to wear. The children even made colourful posters which were displayed around the school in the run up to the actual day

Brighten Up Harvest Jumper Day

As part of our annual Cafod Fundraising, all the children and staff were asked to wear a bright jumper and donate £1 for the Organisation Cafod. As part of our fundraising, the children watched a short video, as part of the assembly, to see how their money was used and learn about the wonderful work that Cafod does.
